Pacific Ridge (PRK) has commenced drilling operations at its Kliyul copper-gold project located in British Columbia’s prolific Quesnel Trough, a significant move for the company as it seeks to expand its resource base. The drilling program is set to include a total of 2,500 meters divided between both the East and West targets of this highly prospective property.
The company indicated that this initial phase focuses on confirming historical results while also aiming to expand on mineralization delineated in previous campaigns.
The Kliyul project is strategically located, neighboring the highly successful KSM and Red Chris mines, which positions it favorably within a rich mining region known for large-scale mineral deposits. Pacific Ridge’s current program aims to follow up on notable intersections from past drilling, including a highlight of 0.96% copper equivalent over 195 meters, which indicates the potential for significant mineral wealth beneath the surface.
“Drilling at Kliyul represents an exciting step forward in our exploration efforts,” said Pacific Ridge President and CEO Paul Smith. “The Kliyul project has demonstrated notable potential, and with the strategic drilling design we have in place, we are eager to confirm historical results and uncover additional mineralization.”
The drilling commenced earlier this week, with the site prepared to undertake a rigorously designed program that interprets existing geological data and employs advanced drilling techniques. The company intends to utilize insights gained from this initial phase to refine further exploration plans and maximize the resource potential of Kliyul.
Company officials have expressed confidence in the project, underscoring the established geological framework of the area, which is supported by the presence of multiple copper and gold occurrences. Pacific Ridge noted that the historical resources identified in prior work have provided a solid foundation to support ongoing exploration efforts.
With over 600,000 hectares of land in its portfolio, Pacific Ridge is focused on delivering shareholder value through disciplined exploration and development activities. The current drilling program at Kliyul is aligned with the company’s strategic goals and aims to reinforce its position in the copper and gold market as exploration efforts continue to uncover promising results.
Pacific Ridge intends to update shareholders regularly on the progress of the drilling program, including forthcoming assay results and developments from ongoing fieldwork. This comprehensive approach will allow the company to manage its project effectively while navigating the dynamic nature of the mineral exploration landscape.
As part of its broader vision, Pacific Ridge remains committed to utilizing state-of-the-art technology and streamlined processes to enhance its exploration capabilities. The Kliyul project stands as a key component of the company’s growth strategy as it continues to position itself to capitalize on the increasing demand for copper and gold in both domestic and global markets.
The exploration program is expected to yield valuable data that could drive future operational decisions and investments.
