Perseus Mining (PRU) has reported record financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, fueled by strong operational performance and significant capital returns. The company generated a substantial $505.7 million in revenue, marking a 35% year-over-year increase. Net profit surged to $133.1 million, translating into earnings of $0.14 per share, compared to $74.9 million and $0.10 per share in the previous year.
In a year of robust production, Perseus recorded 233,499 ounces of gold produced, setting a new benchmark for the company’s output. This achievement was supported by its operations in West Africa, particularly at its Edikan and Sissingué gold mines, where record-grade ore and improved operational efficiencies have been pivotal.
Perseus has not only excelled in profitability but has also prioritized capital returns to its shareholders. The company announced a total return of $140 million via a combination of a $50 million share buyback program and a $90 million dividend distribution.
This move exemplifies the firm’s commitment to providing value to its investors, along with maintaining a healthy balance sheet and prudent capital management strategies. The company recently updated on its ongoing share buyback program.
“Our record financial results reflect the hard work of our dedicated personnel and the performance of our outstanding operations,” said Jeff Quartermaine, Managing Director and CEO of Perseus Mining. “We are pleased to reward our loyal shareholders with significant capital returns, reaffirming our belief in the strength of our business model.”
The company has outlined its operational strategy for the coming fiscal year, aiming to maintain gold production levels between 240,000 to 260,000 ounces and to capture growth opportunities within its existing projects. Perseus is also excited about the potential of its recently acquired Yaouré gold mine in Ivory Coast, which is expected to enhance its production capacity further.
Market analysts are optimistic about Perseus’s continued growth trajectory as the global demand for gold remains strong, driven by economic uncertainty and increased use in various industries. The firm’s geographical diversification across West Africa positions it advantageously to capitalize on favorable market conditions.
As Perseus Mining prepares for another ambitious year, the company expects to invest in exploration and development projects that can deliver sustained growth and profitability in the long term. This proactive approach, combined with strong operational metrics, positions Perseus as a formidable player in the gold mining sector.
