AbraSilver Resource Corp. (TSX: ABRA; OTCQX: ABBRF) has completed its final property payment to EMX Royalty Corporation, officially securing 100% ownership of its Diablillos silver-gold project in Salta province, Argentina.
The company announced Thursday it had made the US$6.85 million payment ahead of the July 31, 2025 deadline, and at a reduced total from the original US$7 million obligation outlined in the 2017 purchase agreement.
The payment brings AbraSilver’s full purchase obligations to a close and marks a key de-risking milestone for the advanced-stage explorer.
“By making this payment early, we have further strengthened our financial position while maintaining our focus on rapidly advancing the Diablillos Project towards production,” said President and CEO John Miniotis. “We would like to thank the EMX team for their collaboration and flexibility throughout this process.”
EMX acquired its interest in Diablillos through a broader royalty portfolio transaction with SSR Mining in 2021 and will continue to hold a 1.0% net smelter return (NSR) royalty on the project.
The Diablillos property currently hosts 124 million ounces of silver and 1.1 million ounces of gold in proven and probable reserves, according to a recent pre-feasibility study, and remains open to further exploration. AbraSilver has positioned the asset as one of Argentina’s leading near-term silver-gold development projects.
The company is also partnered with Teck Resources on its La Coipita copper-gold project in San Juan province.
