Gold Terra Resources (YGT) prepares for November drilling campaign at historic Con Mine, targeting high-grade gold zones

Gold Terra Resources (YGT) is advancing its exploration efforts at the Con Mine in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, with the preparation of drill targets for an upcoming drilling campaign scheduled to begin in early November 2025. This initiative is aimed at further evaluating the potential of the site, which has seen significant historical production, to explore high-grade gold zones.

The exploration team has identified a total of seven high-priority drill targets based on recent geological mapping and sampling in the area. Gold Terra aims to focus its efforts on drill targets outlined to the north of the former mine’s infrastructure, tapping into residual gold mineralization that may still exist in this historic mining region.

“Through our recent mapping and sampling, we have identified some promising targets that warrant further exploration,” said David Suda, President and CEO of Gold Terra. “Our goal is to systematically test these areas as we seek to unlock the remaining value of this past-producing asset,” as reported by Gold Terra Plans Major Drilling Program at Historic Con Mine.

In the past, the Con Mine produced over 5 million ounces of gold at an impressive average grade of 16 grams per tonne. The groundwork laid for this upcoming drilling campaign will include thorough site assessments and logistical planning to ensure efficiency as drilling mobilizes in the months ahead.

The property encompasses approximately 790 square kilometers, with substantial portions remaining under-explored even after decades of historical operations. Gold Terra’s strategy involves not only leveraging the past-producing infrastructure but also applying modern exploration techniques to enhance resource identification and extraction. This strategy aligns with the findings from Gold Terra Announces Drill Target Preparation for the Con Mine, Yellowknife, NWT.

This exploration campaign is aligned with growing market interest in gold investment as investors seek safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainties. The potential outcomes of the drilling may significantly impact the company’s trajectory moving forward, claiming a competitive position in the mining sector.

“Northwest Territories is a resource-rich region with a proven gold endowment. We believe that with the right strategy and efforts, Gold Terra can not only advance the exploration of this property but also contribute to the sustainable economic development in the region,” said Suda.

As the company gears up for the November drill program, stakeholders are keen to see how the results will shape the future of Gold Terra and its operational strategies at the Con Mine, enhancing its standing as a serious player in Canada’s evolving gold mining landscape.
