Majestic Gold (MAG) boosts Q2 revenue by 19% to $42.7M amid rising gold production in China

Majestic Gold (MAG) reported second-quarter revenue of $42.7 million, representing a 19% increase from the same period in 2024, driven largely by enhanced production at its projects in China. The company’s net income for the period stood at $12 million, up from $10 million a year earlier, translating to earnings of $0.01 per share.

The increase in revenue was attributed to a significant rise in gold production, which reached 35,000 ounces during the quarter, up 25% year-over-year. The strong performance was primarily due to improved operational efficiencies at the company’s flagship project, the Songjiagou Gold Mine, located in Shandong province. Majestic Gold emphasized that ongoing investments in technology and processes have contributed to these gains.

“This quarter marks another solid step in our growth trajectory, reflecting our commitment to optimizing our operations and enhancing shareholder value,” said G. Matthew Smith, President and CEO of Majestic Gold. He highlighted the efficiency of the Songjiagou mine, noting that the project has consistently delivered strong results and is positioned for sustained growth.

Majestic Gold’s cost of sales for the second quarter was $20 million, resulting in a gross profit of $22.7 million. The company reported an operating margin of 53%, suggesting robust operational performance in a favorable gold price environment. The firm also noted that it has a solid cash position of $40 million, enabling further investments and potential expansion projects.

Looking ahead, Majestic Gold is focused on increasing its production capacity through ongoing exploration efforts and technology enhancements. The company is evaluating new targets within its existing concessions and intends to expand its mining footprint as global demand for gold continues to rise amid economic uncertainty.

Gold prices have proven resilient, and Majestic Gold is optimistic about the market conditions going forward. “With gold remaining an attractive investment amidst economic volatility, we believe our strategic initiatives will position us well to capitalize on these opportunities,” said Smith.

The firm has a clear vision of boosting production levels while maintaining cost efficiency, setting the stage for a strong performance in the latter half of 2025. As Majestic Gold continues to solidify its presence in the industry, stakeholders can expect news of additional developments as the company works to enhance its growth trajectory. Factors impacting the sector include recent developments such as earnings from miners and potential collaborations within the industry.
