Pacific Ridge Exploration (PEX) kicks off drilling at Kliyul copper-gold project, eyes resource expansion

Pacific Ridge Exploration (PEX) has commenced drilling at its Kliyul copper-gold project in British Columbia. The initial phase of this drilling program includes seven diamond drill holes, targeting an initial 2,500 meters designed to expand the known mineralization footprint.

The Kliyul project is situated within the prolific Quesnel Trough, a region recognized for its resource potential, hosting several significant copper and gold deposits. Previous exploration results from Kliyul have indicated promising intersections, including 0.50% copper and 0.53 grams per ton gold over 154 meters, which positions the project favorably among its peers.

“We are excited to begin this drill program at Kliyul, where we aim to confirm and expand on the strong mineralization encountered previously,” said Allen David, President and CEO of Pacific Ridge. “With our team’s expertise and the robust geological setting of the area, we are optimistic about the outcomes of these drilling efforts.”

The drilling program at Kliyul is part of the company’s strategy to enhance its resource base in a region that has seen renewed interest from mining companies. The current work program is designed not only to validate earlier exploration results but also to explore new areas of the property that have not been extensively drilled.

Pacific Ridge has committed to continuing its proactive exploration strategy, securing funding through a recent financing round that raised $2 million. This capital is pivotal for advancing the Kliyul project as well as other exploration initiatives in the company’s portfolio, which includes the recently acquired RDP project and the 100%-owned Fyre Lake project.

Gold and copper demand is rising, driven by growth in renewable energy and electric vehicle industries, making Kliyul a strategic asset for expansion. The project’s geographic advantage, positioned near established infrastructure, further enhances its economic viability.

As the drilling progresses, Pacific Ridge anticipates sharing updates with stakeholders, aiming to highlight significant findings that could boost the company’s standing in the competitive mining sector.
